Challenges of Globalization
Challenges of Globalization
The important moral challenge of globalization is that every people from different country
have different cultural backgrounds and that means they also eat different kind of foods. The
ingredients, methods of preparation, preservation techniques, and types of food eaten at
different meals vary among their cultures. Based on the video, the McDonald's company has to
adjust, develop, and consider food preference of each country by researching new menu items
to satisfy their customers. Another challenge is that McDonald's company needs to position
itself against its competitors as different countries have developed fast food chains over time. In
the video, it is mentioned that government in different countries around the world have different
views on what can be sold in fast food outlets and with that McDonald's have to research and
be mindful of what is legal and illegal to sell in every country so that they were able not to violate
any rules. Lastly, in order ensure standardized product and to ensure franchisees around the
world deliver more profits and performs best, they need to make sure that employees like
managers and staffs undergo training to enhance their skills, capabilities, and knowledge so
they can be more efficient and productive. This training process molds the thinking of
employees and leads to quality performance. Aside from that McDonald's ensures it by offering
promotional activities to persuade customers so they can deliver higher sales. Therefore, to
overcome all those challenges, McDonald's operate a strong local strategy alongside its global
operations. McDonald's are local as well as global.
