LEAGUE 27 INTRODUCES ANOTHER FIRST IN LEAGUE PLAY USING THEIR
UNIQUE VENUE OF 8, 9 &10 BALL FORMAT WITH THE PREMIER OF SCOTCH
DOUBLES AT DAVE & BUSTER’S WITH 10 TEAMS PARTICIPATING !!

(Sam & Adam) vs
#5 Slapshot (Jim & Peter)
Samuel Adams got off to a very
quick start as they posted wins in
the first three games of the 8 Ball
Set. The Slapshot took
game 4 before the
Samuel Adam’s
team finished off the
set with a 4-1 set win. The Slapshot
team opened the 9 Ball Set with
the opening win. The Samuel
Adam’s team came right back and
nailed back to back wins in games
2-3 before Slapshots tied it up
winning game 4. Again Samuel
Adams came right back and nailed
wins in the next two games to take
a 10 to 3 lead in the match. The 10
Ball Set found the teams exchang-
ing the first four games of the set.
Samuel Adams then found them-
selves down as the Slapshot team
notched game 5 and then shut
down their opponents winning
game 6. Final: Samuel Adam
(12) / Slapshot (8). Good
shooting by all in a close match.
Table 4: #6 Bad English ( Dave &
Stephen) vs #8 Straight Shooters
(Ken & Dave)
The 8 Ball Set was divided into
sets of two. The Straight Shooters
rattled off wins in games 1 & 2. Bad
English took games 3 & 4 with
some good english but could not
contain the Straight Shooters from
finishing the set as they won the
final two games. The Straight
Shooters made an 8 Ball on the
break in game 5 and take the set
4-2. The Straight Shooters and Bad
English split the first four games of
the 9 Ball Set. Bad English then
went to work and notched wins in
the games 5 & 6 to close out the
set, 4-2. This match was all tied
up after 2 sets. The final 10 Ball
Set went back and forth as both
teams won every other game and
were tied at 3 on the hill. Bad
English finished off the set with a
win in game 7. Good match.
Final: Bad English (12) / Straight

Table 2: #3 Midnight Express
( Doug & Mike) vs #7 Pond Creek
Dogs ( Ron & Jack)
Midnight Express notched game
one and Pond Creek Dogs tied it
with a win in game 2. It was the
Midnight Express from that point on
as Pond Creek Dogs stalled and
the Express rolled taking the next 3
games to finish the 8 Ball Set, 4-1.
The 9 Ball Set was not very
friendly to the Pond Creek Dogs as
they struggled to finish games that
helped the Midnight Express close
of the set with four straight wins
and take a commanding lead in the
match 10 points to 1 for the Pond
Creek Dogs. The Pond Creek Dogs
seemed to get back their stroke in
the 10 Ball Set as they exchanged
the first four games of the set.
Again, it seemed like they could not
finish a game and let the Express
in on missed opportunities to win
games. The Express finished the
set winning 4-2. Final: Midnight
Express (15) / Pond Creek Dogs
(3). Good try to the Dogs and
nice shooting Express.
Table 5: #2 ( Walt & John) vs
#10 Shane & Steve
Walt & John came out fast and
accurate notching the first three
games in the 8 Ball Set before
Shane and Steve could even get
going. Shane and Steve only
slowed down Walt & John by
winning game 4. Walt and John
finished the set for a 4-1 win.
Shane and Steve opened up the
9 Ball Set winning game 1. Walt
and John came right back and
posted back to back wins to jump in
the lead which included a 5-9
combo in game 3. Shane and
Steve tied it at 2 each and then
stalled as Walt and John finished
off the set winning the next two
games for a 4-2 win. The 10 Ball
Set saw Walt and John win games
1, 3 and a 10 ball on the break in
game 5. Shane and Steve notched
wins in games 2, 4 and a 10 ball on
the break in game 6 as both teams
tied at the hill. Shane & Steve
made a 5-10 in game 4. Shane and

(Ray & Matt) vs #9 (Nick &
Cory)
After the Table Wrestlers struck
first in the 8 Ball Set, Nick & Cory
came back strong and nailed
wins in the 2nd & 3rd games to
take the lead. The Table Wres-
tlers came right back and jumped
on the hill with wins in games 4 &
5. Nick and Cory made the hill
winning game 6. It was the
Wrestlers taking game 7 to win
the set 4-3. The 9 Ball Set was
another close set as Nick & Cory
opened with the first win. PT
Wrestlers came right back and
nailed back to back wins in
games 2 & 3. Nick & Cory tied the
set but again could not stop the
Wrestler from winning game 7
and the set 4-3. The Wrestlers
won game one in the 10 Ball Set
with Nick and Cory taking game
2. It was the Wrestlers taking the
next three games to take the final
set 4-1. The Wrestlers shortened
games 3 & 4 with a 4-10 & 3-10
combos. Final: Table Wrestlers
(15) / Nick & Cory (7). Good
match.
Steve held on to take the final
game and the set, 4-3.
Final: Walt & John (13) /
Shane & Steve (8).
Good shooting by both teams.

Table 1: #1 Nicholas Pasque vs
#2 Peter Ramonat
Nick is one of the two sons of Ed
Servitto playing in the league this
session. After Peter notched game
one in the 8 Ball Set, Nick played
steady with some nice shooting
and posted wins in the next three
with to get on the hill. Leading by 2
games, Nick made some errors that
helped Peter get back in the match.
Peter made some key shots and
won the next three games to win
the set 4-3. Peter took game one in
the 9 Ball Set with Nick notching
game 2. It was Peter winning the
next three games to take the sec-
ond set, 4-1. Nick nailed a very
nice 3-10 combo in game one of
the 10 Ball Set and followed it up
nailing a win in game 2. After Peter
posted a win in game 3, Nick
jumped on the hill again with a two
game lead. Peter caught fire and
again went on a run nailing wins in
games 5 & 6 to catch Nick in the
hill. Peter shortened game 7 to win
Walter opened with the first win in
the set and did not stop posting
wins until all four games were
marked on his score sheet. It was a
sweep and the match. Walter wins
the match, 13 to 8 for John. Nice
shooting by both players.
Table 4: #7 Mike Bates vs
#8 Ed Servitto
Mike Bates comes back in this
session to defend his first place
finish in the fall session at
Roosevelt’s and did a good job in
his match. He posted wins in the
first two games of the 8 Ball Set
before Ed popped in an 8 ball win
in the 3rd game. Mike wasted no
time and nailed back to back wins
in the final two games to finish off
the set for a 4-1 win. Mike and Ed
exchanged the first four games of
the 9 Ball Set with Ed nailing a 7-9
combo in game 4. Ed stalled and
Mike went on to win the next two
games to win the set, 4-2. Ed
started out the 10 Ball Set with the
opening win nailing a 7-10 combo.
Mike then took the next three

the set with a 3-10 combo for a 4-3
set win. Peter wins the match 15 to
7 for Nick. Good try by Nick & nice
shooting by Peter.
Table 2: #3 Jim Barkatt vs
#4 Matt Dessert
Matt came out firing shots in left
and right and nailed wins in the first
three games in the 8 Ball Set. Jim
stopped his run at 3 games as he
notched a win in game 4. Matt fin-
ished off the set with a 4-1 win. He
started just as hot in the 9 Ball Set
posting the first three games again
to get on the hill. Jim fought back
with some nice shooting and good
finishes to games and nailed three
wins to tie Matt on the hill. Matt
held on winning game 7 to take the
second set, 4-3. Jim seemed to be
warmed up by the 10 Ball Set and
did what Matt did to him in the
previous sets, as he won the open-
ing three games to get on the hill
quickly. Matt stalled in the set and
won game 4 before Jim slammed
the door winning game 7. Matt
games to get on the hill. Ed
notched a win in game 5 and Mike
stopped Ed with a win in game 6.
Mike takes the set, 15-5 for Ed.
Good effort to Ed and nice shooting
by Mike.
Table 7: #9 Todd Cook vs
#10 Michael Servitto
Ed’s other son Michael joins league
27 for the spring session. Todd
returns for the spring session and
starts the 8 Ball Set with a win.
Michael comes right back winning
th next two games to jump in the
lead. Todd ties the set at 2 each
before Michael gets on the hill with
a win in game 5. Todd then put two
good games back to back to pull
out the set with a 4-3 win. Michael
started the 9 Ball Set posting wins
in the first two games of the set.
Todd followed right behind Michael
winning 3 & 4. Michael again got to
the hill first nailing a 3-9 combo in
game 5. Todd again tied him
looking for a win in game 7 that did
not come this time as Michael held
on to take the set, 4-3. The match

takes the close match, 11 to 9 for
Jim. Good shooting by both
players in a good match.

#6 John Surhigh
Walter was on a roll in the 8 Ball
Set as he was shutting John
down as he nailed wins in the first
three games. He was on the way
to take the set in game 4 when he
inadvertently made the 8 ball out
of turn and opened the flood
gates. John went on a run and
did not stop winning games until
he had finished the set, 4-3. The
9 Ball Set was a back and forth
affair. Walter took game one and
three. John took games 2, 4 and
nailed a 9 ball on the break in
game 5 to get on the hill. Walter
made the break in game 6 and
did not stop making balls until the
game was over to tie John on the
hill. Walter won the final game to
tie up the match, 8 points each.
The 10 Ball Set would be the
deciding set by two good players.

decently and took the first three
games in the set to take a 3-0
lead. Todd found his only win in
the set in game 4 before Michael
finished him off winning the set
4-1. Michael wins the match 13 to
9 for Todd in a close match.

bye in the first week.
