IMPLEMENTATION OF BARO-VNAV APPROACH PROCEDURES

AT KUWAIT INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

1 INTRODUCTION
1. 1 This AIP Supplement provides details on the new barometric vertical
navigation (Baro-VNAV) approach procedures to be implemented for aircraft
operating at Kuwait Airport with effect from 0001 UTC on 17 February 2008.

1 .2 Baro-VNAV approach procedures are instrument procedures in support of

approach and landing operations with vertical guidance. Currently, Kuwait
International Airport is served by ILS precision approaches on all its Runways. In
addition, DVOR/DME non-precision instrument approaches are available for Runway
33L and Runway 15R. The new Baro-VNAV procedures developed for all Runways.

1 .3 The Baro-VNAV procedures are designed in accordance with criteria for area
navigation (RNAV) approach procedures using barometric vertical navigation as
stipulated in the ICAO PANS-OPS (Doc 8168) Volume II.

1 .4 Details of the Baro-VNAV procedures for all Runways are shown at

attachment charts 1- 4 respectively.

2 STANDARD CONDITIONS

Including the ability to have timely change over to positive course guidance for
missed approach.

b) A Lateral Navigation (LNAV) system with a certificated along- and across-track

performance (TSE), equal to or less than 0.6 km (0.3 NM), 95 per cent probability.

approach operations and Required Navigation Performance (RNP) systems
approved for RNP 0.3 approach operations or less are systems which meet the
