NOTE: The perimeter of land is dependent on the shape of the land. Different shapes of land can have the same area coverage
but the perimeter is different. Hence it’s difficult to estimate the length of the fence depending on the shape of the land.
However, for simplicity and in order to have some estimates, we shall consider the 3 standard shapes on land in Uganda
(50by100, 100by100, and acre (200by200)).

For example

An acre is a unit of area, it is 43560 square feet, but it can be any shape, a square, a circle, a long thin rectangle, a triangle, pie
shaped or any other shape.

 If it is a square, the sides would be approximately 209 feet long and you would need 4 x 209 = 836 feet of fencing.
 If it is a circle then the perimeter is 740 feet
 If it is 100 feet wide then it is 436 feet long and the perimeter is 1072 feet.

The above measurements will be used to estimate the amount of money used to fence the land depending on the type of fence
selected.

TYPES OF FENCES

The main focus for the fencing services will be to protect land boundaries. This implies that our main selling point for fences
will be the cheaper fences that only serve as boundary protectors and maybe minimal security. These include barbed wire
fences and chain link fences
