TECHNICAL  DATA

FH  PRO™  for  Women  is  a  premium  clinical-‐grade  fertility  supplement  designed  to  promote  egg
quality,  improve  ovarian  function,  and  enhance  overall  fertility.  While  Assisted  Reproductive
Technology  (ART)  can  often  increase  the  number  of  eggs  available  to  fertilize  through  ovulation
stimulation  medications,  few  interventions  exist  which  can  favorably  impact  the  quality  of  the  eggs.
As  a  result,  poor  egg  quality  often  hinders  conception.  FH  Pro™  for  Women  is  intended  to
complement  ART.  However,  it  can  be  taken  by  all  trying-‐to-‐conceive  women,  including  those  with
polycystic  ovary  syndrome  (PCOS)  and  those  of  advanced  maternal  age.

FH  PRO™  for  Women  supplies  a  complete  spectrum  of  scientifically  proven  antioxidants,  including
CoQ10,  Vitamin  E,  and  alpha  lipoic  acid,  to  protect  eggs  against  the  damaging  effects  of  oxidative
stress  that  occurs  as  the  result  of  age  and  environmental  toxins.    FH  PRO™  for  Women  also  contains
ingredients  shown  to  promote  hormonal  balance  and  insulin  sensitivity  and  to  support  ovarian
function.  In  addition,  this  formula  provides  comprehensive  preconception  vitamin  and  mineral
support,  including  an  optimal  dose  of  Quatrefolic,™  the  most  bioavailable  form  of  folate.

INDICATIONS  FOR  USE

•  Supports  egg  quality  by  protecting  eggs  from  the  damaging  effects  of  oxidative  stress.

metabolism.
•  Provides  comprehensive  preconception  multivitamin  and  mineral  support.  Enhances  general
health,  which  promotes  fertility  and  pregnancy  wellness.
•  Provides  the  nutrients  most  well-‐studied  for  female  fertility  and  preconception  health,  in
therapeutic  dosages.

RECOMMENDED  DOSAGE

Take  6  capsules  daily  or  as  recommended  by  a  healthcare  professional.

INGREDIENT  HIGHLIGHTS

Myo-‐Inositol
Myo-‐inositol  is  well  researched  for  its  ability  to  enhance  fertility.  In  women  with  poor  ovarian
function  undergoing  IVF,  myo-‐inositol  plus  folic  acid  resulted  in  an  increased  number  of  oocytes  recovered  and  an  improvement  of  the
1
gonadotropin  Ovarian  Sensitivity  Index  (OSI),  indicating  myo-‐inositol  enhanced  ovarian  response  to  gonadotropins.  This  led  the  study  authors  to
conclude,  "Myo-‐inositol  seems  to  be  helpful  in  'poor  responders'  undergoing  IVF  cycles."  Myo-‐inositol  also  has  been  shown  to  reduce  insulin
2,3
resistance  and  body  weight  and  enhance  ovarian  activity  and  fertility  in  PCOS  patients. In  FH  PRO™  for  Women,  myo-‐inositol  is  included  together
4
with  folic  acid  and  melatonin,  a  combination  shown  to  improve  egg  quality  of  in  vitro  fertilization  (IVF)  patients.

D-‐Chiro-‐Inositol
Like  myo-‐inositol,  D-‐chiro-‐inositol  has  beneficial  effects  in  PCOS  patients.  In  overweight/obese  PCOS  patients  given  myo-‐inositol,  there  was  an
improvement  in  luteinizing  hormone  (LH),  LH/follicle  stimulating  hormone  (FSH),  androstenedione,  and  insulin  levels  as  well  as  a  significant
5
improvement  of  insulin  sensitivity  and  gonadotropin-‐releasing  hormone-‐induced  LH  response.  Body  mass  index  decreased,  even  though  the
women  did  not  undertake  any  lifestyle  modifications.

®
Quatrefolic  and  Other  B  Vitamins
FH  PRO™  for  women  contains  Quatrefolic®,  a  novel  (6S)5-‐MTHF  glucosamine  salt  that  is  highly  bioavailable.  Folic  acid  supplementation  is  known  to
prevent  neural  tube  defects,  but  some  women  have  a  common  genetic  mutation  that  prevents  them  from  converting  folic  acid  to  its  more
bioavailable  form.  Quatrefolic®  does  not  need  to  undergo  this  conversion  and  is  therefore  extremely  accessible  for  use  by  the  body.  The  rational
behind  the  inclusion  of  vitamin  B6  and  vitamin  B12  together  with  folic  acid  is  that  these  vitamins  are  known  to  lower  levels  of  the  amino  acid
homocysteine.  High  serum  levels  of  homocysteine  in  the  first  trimester  of  pregnancy  correlate  with  miscarriages,  hypertensive  disorders  of
6
pregnancy,  and  preterm  birth.  Furthermore,  all  of  the  B  vitamins  are  included  in  the  formula  because  B  vitamins  work  together  to  support  energy
production  and  cell  division,  and  should  not  be  supplemented  alone.

Coenzyme  Q10
As  women  age,  mitochondrial  dysfunction  occurs  in  the  ovum,  which  is  associated  with  decreased  oxidative  phosphorylation  and  reduced
adenosine  tri-‐phosphate  (ATP)  levels.  In  oocytes  from  older  mice  and  human  females,  expression  of  the  enzymes  responsible  for  CoQ10  synthesis  is
7
reduced,  leading  to  lower  ATP  production  and  increased  meiotic  spindle  abnormalities,  resulting  in  infertility.  CoQ10  supplementation  may  reduce
7
the  age-‐related  decrease  in  oocyte  quality  and  quantity  and  can  stop  premature  ovarian  failure.  In  another  study  of  women  with  PCOS  who  were
resistant  to  the  drug  clomiphene-‐citrate,  women  taking  both  CoQ10  and  clomiphene-‐citrate  experienced  increased  ovulation  and  a  markedly
8
higher  clinical  pregnancy  rate.

Other  Ingredients
FH  PRO™  for  Women  includes  30  ingredients  shown  to  enhance  fertility  or  promote  maternal  health.  Antioxidant  nutrients  help  preserve  the
quality  of  eggs  by  preventing  oxidative  stress.  FH  PRO™  for  Women  includes  more  than  10  nutrients  that  have  antioxidant  activity  or  participate  in
antioxidant  mechanisms,  including  beta-‐carotene,  vitamin  C,  Vitamin  E,  Quatrefolic®,  melatonin,  alpha  lipoic  acid,  grape  seed  extract,  resveratrol,
zinc,  selenium,  N-‐acetyl-‐cysteine,  and  CoQ10.  It  also  includes  vitamin  D3,  which  regulates  aspects  of  the  reproductive  system.  Optimal  vitamin  D
levels  are  associated  with  optimal  in  vitro  fertilization  outcomes,  and  low  levels  are  associated  with  features  of  polycystic  ovarian  syndrome  (PCOS)
9
and  endometriosis. Alpha  lipoic  acid  is  included  in  the  formula  due  to  in  vitro  studies  that  have  shown  it  can  increase  diameter  and  development
10   11
of  follicles,  oocyte  maturation,  and  embryo  development  rates. Chromium  polynicotinate  enhances  insulin  sensitivity  in  PCOS  patients. FH  PRO™

for  Women  also  includes  Vitamin  E  as  d-‐alpha  tocopheryl  succinate  and  mixed  tocopherols,  the  most  natural  forms  of  this  vitamin.
