SCHOOL GOVERNMENT

The School Government is composed of governing board, the school principal, the
Academic Council, the assessment and Promotion Commission, the Student
Representative, the Student Council, the Parents’ Association.

The governing board is structured according to articles 143 and 144 of Law 115.
It is the highest academic organism of the institution.

The School principal is the leader of an entire community within a school. He or


she is responsible for managing the major administrative tasks and supervising all
students and teachers. They are also known as head masters in some countries.

The Academic Council is a superior instance to participate in the pedagogical


orientation of the Institution in the study, modification and adjustment of the
curriculum, in the organization of the Plan of Studies and in the Institutional
Assessment. It is integrated by:

1. The Principal.

2. Academic coordinator

3. Teacher for each area.


The assessment and Promotion Commission is a
consultative body that makes decisions about procedures
and adjustments related to management within the school,
such as the allocation of an honor scholarship, honors
enrollment and incentives for members of the entire educational community.

The Student Council is the school body that ensures


and guarantees the continuous exercise of participation
by the students. It will be integrated by a representative
of each grade. Their election will be the first week of the
academic calendar.

The Student Representative will be a student from last


grade. He will be in charge of promoting the exercise of
the duties and rights of the students, according to the
Political Constitution, the laws, the regulations and the
school manual on coexistence. In addition, he/she must
possess the following qualities:

1. Excellent academic performance.

2. Have leadership and management capacity.

3. Not having disciplinary proceedings in the previous year.

The Parents’ Association ensures the continued


participation of parents and students in the pedagogical
process of the school. It is composed of the students’
parents of all grades.
