MADISON POLICE

DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE

On August 27, 2020 at approximately 0200 hours, Madison Police Department officers
responded to a domestic dispute at 17 Salem Road in Madison (MPD CFS 20-6506).
Upon arrival, officers met with the complainants who indicated that their 46 year-old
son threatened them. Madison officers made brief verbal contact with the subject
through a closed door. However, starting at approximately 0230 hours, no further con-
tact was made with the subject.

The parents were quickly removed from the property and due to the nature of the threats

made, the South Central Regional SWAT Team was activated along with the Crisis
Madison, Connecticut Negotiation Team. Neighbors were advised to shelter in place.

Negotiators, SWAT Team Members and Madison officers worked throughout the hours
of the morning to communicate with the subject to induce a peaceful surrender.

At approximately 1030 hours, the subject was removed from the residence and was

The subject will face charges due to the underlying domestic dispute.

The Madison Police Department would like to thank the member of the South Central
Regional SWAT and Crisis Negotiation Teams for their assistance in bringing this mat-
ter to closure. Additionally, the Madison Police Department would like to thank the
neighbors for their patience during the disruption this morning.
