Atelier Studio is a professional photography studio located in Uttara. Atelier studio was founded on
2018. It offers fashion photography, model portfolio, product photography, post production and studio
rent. Atelier Studio has a senior photographer and marketing head Ashfak Islam Abir, an operation
manager Tanvir Rahman and a make-over artist Mim Sabrin. Some of their clients are MINISO
BANGLADESH, VELOUR, Boomerang Digital, BEN ROIS, BGMEA and many more.

Sheikh Mohammad Jilani Yaseer is the founder and owner of Atelier studio. He completed his
BSC in Computer Science and Engineering from Worcestershire University in 2013. Photography has
always been his passion and now he turned his passion into profession. While staying in London, he
worked with some of the renowned photographers there. He created some conceptual contents to
create social awareness. After coming back to Bangladesh he wanted to do something with his skills in
photography. He saw a good market in the photography industry because there were very few
professional studios for fashion photography. So, he started building his studio with an investment of
BDT 8,00,000. He set up the studio and bought all latest light set up and equipment. Till now no other
studios use the light set up that Atelier Studio does.

Mr. Jilani did some market research about the competitors and threats that he can face. In Uttara,
Atelier was the only professional studio back then. So, he played monopoly for a year. Studio was
running good from the very first because there was high demand in the market. After six months he got
some positive feedbacks from clients. He also built his website and worked in Google search engine.

But after first six months, the number of customers were not increasing. Then he realized the only
reason is lack of marketing. So he decided to collaborate with like-minded people. He struggled a bit to
find the right person who works with conceptual photography and also has marketing skills. Finally he
hired Ashfak Islam Abir and focused on marketing. They did traditional marketing to BGMEA, Shanto
Mariam University and some agencies. They did some digital marketing and also some promotional
photo shoots. The number of clients started to increase. They hired Tanvir Rahman to manage the
clients and all operational works.

S M Jilani said “You

have to provide the best quality in your service because there is
always someone to offer lower price in this industry .” He tries his best to make the
customers feel comfortable. He is an extrovert person and really good at socializing. So he uses this skill
to make the customers feel comfortable.

As he said there was a drawback in the marketing and he could have done a better market research.
Now he has already done a much better market research with his team and came up with some
strategies. He believes this will help the studio to increase the number of clients.
Mr. Jilani believes in consistency. “ If you fail to continue the improvement, you’ll be
knocked out from the market” – he mentioned. So he is always thinking about what could be
better. He keeps his equipment up to date and that is his USP. He has a great ambience in the studio to
create a homely environment. He is in the process of expansion of his studio. He is establishing a
cinematography unit for TVC, OVC and short film.

As a creative person he believes in collaboration. He collaborate with young artists to motivate them
and also tries to send message through the work. He has already created some contents on sexual
harassment and women empowerment.

He believes his experience contributed the most to recognize this opportunity. He was related to
photography for more than 10 years. He also worked with a lot of photographers. At the young age he
used to participate in photography exhibitions. He also has friends who are doing really good in wedding
photography. He has always been related with this sector. As he said earlier “ Photography was
his passion, now he has turned his passion in to profession.”
