ABSTRACT

Unsignalized intersection is implemented to regulate low volume of traffic flow. Manual

method is used to obtain the required data, such as traffic volume and occupation time. The
analysis of the level of service in the intersection between CEO and Lyceum of the Philippines
had resulted into very short traffic delays. And no recommendations are needed.

I. INTRODUCTION

Traffic conflicts between vehicular movements are created when two or more roads
crossed each other. Such conflicts may cause delay and traffic congestion with the possibility of
road accidents. Thus, each intersection requires traffic control. It is regulated with stop signs,
traffic lights, and roundabout. The common type of intersection is the unsignalized intersection,
which is used to regulate low volume of traffic flow between the major and minor streets.

Batangas City comprises major intersections that plays a vital role in the continuous
development of its transportation system. And one of those intersections is the Ferry Rd. And
Herrera Road intersection located near the City Engineers Office and LPU-Batangas. This
intersection is one of the main passages to the city proper. It is an unsignalized and is usually
used by PUJs.
II. OBJECTIVES

This study aims to know the flow of traffic at the intersection between the Civil Engineers
Office and Lyceum of the Philippines University of Batangas.

III. METHODOLOGY

A. STUDY AREA

We had gathered our data from and at the intersection between the Civil Engineers
Office located at Ferry Rd. and Lyceum of the Philippines University of Batangas, at P. Herrera
Rd.

B. DATA COLLECTION
1. We manually counted every vehicles that passed through the designated road.

IV. RESULTS & DISCUSSION

A. DATA ANALYSIS
1. VOLUME

B. DISCUSSION

There’s no problem in the traffic congestion in the area of our observation. No risk of
having heavy traffic. Speed limits traffic signals are unnecessary.

V. CONCLUSIONS & RECOMMENDATIONS

The results of the traffic between the P. Herrera road and Ferry Rd. Has proven very
short traffic delay. In conclusion, there are no traffic congestion in the area and it’s probably the
more convenient route to travel if one would like to reach their destination with little amount of
disruptions.
