(RPP MICROTEACHING)

School : SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja


Course : English / “What day is today?”
Grade/Semester : 8th / Odd
Core Materials : Sharing past experience through recount text
Time Allocation : 20 minutes

1. Learning Objectives
- Students are able to explain the purpose, generic structure, and language feature of
recount text.
- Students are able to create a simple recount text in the form of instagram caption
which will be posted in their own instagram account.

2.1.1. Method
This lesson is explaining method which will be conducted through online meeting in
google meeting.
2.1.2. Media
Power point presentation.
2. 2 Observing picture
- Students start the lesson by recalling back their prior knowledge about days of the
week
- Students observe the pictures of past experience and start to recall back their own past
experiences and share it to the class.
2. 3 Reading a recount text
- Students read a recount text, entitled “My Ticket” and observe the generic structure as
well as the language feature of the text.
- Students answer the questions based on the text.
- Students learn how to write and tell events through Simple Past Tense as the main
language feature of a recount text.
2. 4 Conclusion and Learning Assessment
2.4.1. Learning conclusion
Through learning the how to share their own experience in the form of recount text,
it is hoped that the students can share their own story to others people and can give
inspiration through their lesson that they learn during their experience to the readers.
Thus can be said that through this text, it is hoped that the students can entertain the
readers.
2.4.2. Assessment
The assessment will be given through writing assignment. Students will write a
recount text about their experience during the pandemic and share it in their
instagram account.

2. Make it based on the generic structure. The length is around 4-5 paragraphs

4. You can start to post your picture and text from 10th – 13th June 2020.
