The Email

Email is a system of sending written messages electronically from one


computer to another. Email is an abbreviation of 'electronic mail'.

How to write an informal email or letter

In this lesson we will see How to Write an Informal Email in English, it also
serves as an informal letter, to someone you know, friends or family. We will
see its structure, phrases and appropriate vocabulary, as well as an exercise in
understanding emails.

Characteristics of an informal letter or email in English

● It should be organized with a simple structure.

● It should be a short text with concise sentences.

● Use an informal tone, casual language, good grammar and adequate


vocabulary.

● Exclamation points can be used to express emotion.

● Use contractions, colloquial expressions and compound verbs (phrasal


verbs)
