(DH Budenberg 580 Series) Hydraulic Dead-Weight Testers: To Apply Pressure
A deadweight tester is a calibration standard that uses the principle of a pressure balance to calibrate
pressure measuring instruments. Deadweight testers use calibrated weights to apply known pressures
to a device under test for a simple and cost-effective solution.
Principle of Work
Operation of the tester is controlled by the two valves A and B on the top of the reservoir/high pressure
cylinder block. When initially filling the system, valves A and B are opened to fill the system with oil from
the reservoir.
TO APPLY PRESSURE
2) Wind screw pump handle clockwise. This will generate pressure up to approximately 140 bar or
2000 Ib/in2 , as handle is wound in. When handle becomes stiff to rotate this will indicate that the
pressure limit for this range has been reached
