B. REVIEW:
Ask the students to give the formula for getting simple probability.

C. MOTIVATION:

Direction: Find the probability for each of the following event.

II. LEARNING DEVELOPMENT

D. PRESENTATION OF CONCEPTS:

JANUARY 27
Theoretical Probability – refers to the probability of an event that happen after experiment have conducted.
Experimental Probability – refers to the possible outcomes of an event should happen.

Example:
1. Jason tossed a coin five times; the result is H T T T H. If his bet is head, what is the probability of his
winning
Condition 2
Answer: P(H) = =
Sample Space 5
2. Anna rolled a die and the result is 1 6 4 5 2 2 6 1 6. What is the probability of getting:
6 2
a. even number? P(even) = or
9 3
3 1
b. perfect square number? P(perfect square) = or
9 3
9
c. number less than 10? P(number less than 10) = or 1
9
0
d. number greater than 10? P(number greater than 10) = or 0
9

JANUARY 28
Check the students understanding by giving them exercises regarding the last topic
Seatwork: Find the probability of the given event:
1. A card is drawn at random from a box containing 12 cards numbered 1, 2, 3,…., 12. Find the probability of
drawing:
a. a “7”
b. an even number
c. a prime number
d. a perfect square
e. a negative number
f. a number less than 13

JANUARY 29
Group Activity: Each group will answer the following:
1. A ball is drawn at random from a bag containing some balls numbered 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15,…., 24. Find the
probability of drawing
a. a “21”
b. an odd number
c. a perfect cube
d. c composite number.

JANUARY 30
Book Work!
Check each student understanding about the topic.

JANUARY 31

The students should demonstrate knowledge in answering their QUIZ NO. 2 for the 4 th Quarter

E. VALUES INTEGRATION:
The learner becomes responsible and ready when encountering problems in life.

F. GENERALIZATION:
Ask the students the difference between theoretical and experimental probability
G. ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR APPLICATION OR REMEDIATION:
Let the students answer exercises on the book to check their understanding
