Course Description:
The purpose of this course is to assist students in making informed decisions regarding their future academic and
occupational goals and to provide information regarding careers in the Business, Management, and Administration
career cluster. The content includes but is not limited to instruction in introductory keyboarding, introductory word
processing, introductory electronic presentation, introductory computer hardware, introductory Internet, and soft
skills for business applications.

REQUIRED SUPPLIES:
Flash drive, 1 ream of copy paper (keep at home), pens, pencils, composition notebook, school appropriate email address
(parents should have password)

GRADING:
A variety of oral and written, group and individual assignments will be given.

TESTS and ESSAYS--


● All tests will be announced
● Essays are graded based upon scoring rubric
● Multiple-choice/short answer/true false test.
● Test may include a combination of both essay/ Multiple-choice/ short answer/true false test

Projects--
● Projects will be completed in class, with some parts finished at home
● Project requirements will be posted on our class website
● Rubrics for projects will be posted on our website as well

Quizzes---
● quizzes will be given as needed
● may be open ended, true false

Classwork---
● computer based response
● notebook response
● class participation and discussion

GENERAL INFORMATION

Attendance
Students are expected to attend all class sessions on time . All assignments should be completed in a timely fashion, and according
to school policies.

Check the calendar for due dates. Assignments can also be found on our website.

Make-Ups
Any work assigned prior to the absence is within the days as provided in your student handbook. Please see me privately if there
are extenuating circumstances.

Missing Assignments
Students should make sure they are turning all work when it is due. If an assignment that was turned in is missing from Gradebook,
please notify me as soon as possible.

No Names
Even though work may be submitted virtually, ALL assignments must have your name TYPED on them. Once work is printed or
opened, there will be no way of determining which student assignments belong to.

Late Work
Late work is accepted with a reduction in points per day unless an emergency has occurred and the teacher has been notified by
parent/guardian.

Integrity
Cheating is not allowed. Copy/paste or cut/paste will earn you a ‘0’ and a behavior notification. All work must be completed by the
student.

Extra Credit
No extra credit is given in the course. As long as students are completing their assignments according to the given rubric, there is
no need for extra work.

Classroom Expectations

1. Log into classroom quietly (mic muted) at the correct start time, have your camera on, and complete the Warm Up without
prompting.
2. Grade level uniform shirts must be worn during school hours.
3. No eating during class. Have snacks during 8 minute class changes.
4.Come to class prepared, ready to start assignments. Have your materials gathered for the day.
5. If you encounter a problem, notify teacher immediately.
6. Treat everyone (and your computer equipment) with respect.

Classroom Procedures

1. Make sure your camera is turned on and your workspace is school appropriate.
2. You Must use your first and last name as screen name. No nicknames.
3. Work Time: Work from the first bell until the teacher says stop or you have completed the assignment.
4. If you finish early: See teacher for more instructions.
5. Attention: When your attention is requested, turn to teacher to listen.
6. Notify teacher if you must hide your camera for a brief second.
7. Turn in work as directed.
8. Questions: You are encouraged to ask for assistance. Your classmates may help you if the assignment allows it. If they can not
help, raise your hand and wait to be called on.
9. Dismissal: Stay in class until the teacher dismisses you.
