Directions: Complete the table/matrix below by citing examples of various kinds of groups in the
Philippine context. Why do You Think So?

Example Explanation
1. Primary Indigenous Filipinos are raised with a strict family ties, and we can expect
Group Groups the same with those who are raised in tribes. They grow as a part
of the tribe and it is where they learn their roots and their
culture. As it goes with the African proverb, "It takes a village
to raise a child", just like the said proverb most of the people of
our country's ethnic groups makes a robust connection with each
child born into their providence.
2. Secondary Church Filipinos are all known to have such great attachments to their
Group Mates faith and teachings of their own 0.1% of Filipino's whole
population are known to be irreligious; with that being said,
almost every one goes to church to do their homage. Certain
religions requires a strong bond with it's follower and should all
have the same bearings, though some of us are raised into it but
we only become fond of those who we know from our sect when
we come to age of socialization. And people could carry the
same reason why they worship.
3. In-group UP Babaylan UP Babaylan is a conglomerate consisting of people whom
proselytize their beliefs on how equality should work for
everybody. People affiliated with the said organization are more
commonly teen agers and fully-fledged adults which considers
their selves as a part of the LGBTQ community. They take
refuge to this association because it where they will discern to be
the most accepted in.
4. Out-group Christian Though it was stated earlier that religions can be a secondary
Community group, but not every people in the religion are as accepting as the
others. For some instances, here in the Philippines most
Christian elders abhors invert acts of one's gender. Though not
the whole community does the same, but majority of them
believes that homophile is sin, on which drives homosexual
people stay inside of their closet, because they are frantic on
how homophobics can be aloof to them.
5. Network Reunion Let's be honest, we all love reuniting with an old colleague. A
social gathering can be a great way to meet everyone from you
college/high school days again. You get to talk about your new
life and reminisce about the bonds you once shared during your
youth.
