FAQ

1. What is SRMJCCA?
SRMJCCA stands for SRM Joint Counseling Committee for Admissions and has been set up to
manage and regulate the joint seat allocation for B.TECH admissions for the academic year 2020-
21 across seven campuses of SRM Group of Universities(Kattankulathur, Ramapuram,
Vadapalani, Ghaziabad, Haryana, Amaravati and Sikkim ).

2. What will be the mode of Counseling?


The mode of counseling is online.

4. How many rounds of counseling is to be conducted?


There will be three rounds of counseling. Rounds will be scheduled based upon the vacancy.

5. What is the eligibility criteria for B.Tech?


Minimum 50% aggregate in PCM/PCB for all campuses except Amaravati .For Amaravati Campus
minimum 60% aggregate in PCM is needed. For more details check the given link -

6. What is the fee structure for B.Tech?

7. What are the options available to select if I have allotted a seat?


If the seat is allotted, you can either accept the allotted seat or go for upgradation or forfeit the
allotted seat. If you accept the allotted seat you can proceed with the 50% Fee payment on or before
the stipulated date to download the Provisional allotment letter. The balance fee is to be paid on or
before 3010.2020

8. What are the options available to select if I have NOT allotted a seat?
If you are not allotted a seat but found eligible, you can proceed with the next round of counseling
or exit the counseling.

9. Am I eligible to participate in the next rounds of Counseling if I have been allotted a seat?
Yes, by selecting the upgrade option you can take part in the next round of counseling.

10. Is there option for Campus and Branch Upgradation/sliding?


Yes, you can accept the allotted seat and proceed with next round of Counseling .

11. What is the minimum fee to be paid to participate in Accept and UPGRADATION?
The minimum fee to be paid is Rs.50,000 on or before the stipulated date to participate in
UPGRADATION.

12. What is the mode of payment, if I accept the seat?


The mode of payment is online (NEFT/RTGS). The payment details can be found in the applicant
dashboard.

13. How much fee to be paid to confirm the Provisional Admission?


50 % of the tuition fee and other fees should be paid fully to confirm the provisional admission.

14. What happens if I did not pay the fees within the stipulated date post seat allotment?
Failure to pay the fees on or before the stipulated date will lead to the cancellation of the seat
allotted and will not be allowed to proceed with the next round of counseling.

15. What happens if I did not pay the minimum fees for upgradation within the stipulated date post seat
allotment?
Failure to pay the minimum fees for upgradation on or before the stipulated date will lead to the
cancellation of the seat allotted and will not be allowed to proceed with the next round of
counseling.

16. If I got a branch with higher choice in upgradation, is it mandatory to select the branch with higher
choice?
No, instead you will be given the choice to select either of the branches.

17. How many times can I opt for upgradation?


You are allowed for only one upgradation.

18. How many rounds am I eligible to participate if seat not allotted?


You are allowed to participate as long as the vacancy exists.

19. When are classes going to start and which mode?


Commencement of Class in Online mode from 9th September 2020. Regular mode of classes will
be started as per the Govt., norms/UGC/AICTE.

20. What are the processes after Provisional Admission?


The candidate has to go through the enrollment process after the Provisional Admission.
Enrollment process is mandatory for all the fee paid candidates.

21. Whether any NRI quota available?

22. How to cancel admissions after getting Provisional admission letter?


Request for cancellation of admission must be submitted ONLY through online mode. Request
for cancellation through Email/posts/letter etc will not be entertained.

23. What are the refund norms if the admission is cancelled?

24. How about the hostel bookings? Can we book it now?


Hostel booking details will be communicated separately to all the selected candidates in appropriate
time.

25. Are any Rank based fee is there for any programmes?
Yes. Tuition fee for CSE and all its specializations at SRMIST, Kattankulathur campus will be
Rs.2,50,000/- for Rank upto 2500 (Fee with SRM Merit Scholarship) and Rs.3,50,000/- from Rank
2501 onwards.
