III. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This study will be a significant endeavor in promoting the conservation of abundant

resources in the Western Visayas, specifically in the province of Antique and Negros Occidental,
by laying out a plan that could help them accomplish multiple objectives that are best to sustain
the significance of the resources (agricultural, marine, natural) of the region in any new use,
alterations, or management against natural and man-made threats. This study will also be
beneficial not only to the farmers and fishermen, but also to the other people who benefits from
the abundant resources as conservation management plan (CMP) will help them know the ways
on how to take care of the resources in the place. The advantages given by this study are: First,
conservation plans that can work to reverse damage to existing environments by helping the land
itself. Hazards, such as man-made hazards can be prevented but natural hazards are something
that we cannot, and it’s quite a challenge for us people in terms with dealing against Mother
Nature’s anger. However, there are actually many ways to mitigate the damage brought by the
natural hazards which could actually save the country’s economy and the people’s.

Secondly, conservation planning is beneficial to multiple generations, providing not

simply a quick land use solution, but also an opportunity for education. Good conservation
planning also includes a vision for the future of the resources as well. Moreover, this study will
provide plans and recommendations on how to conserve the significance of the resources in the
area.

Moreover, this study is an economically wise option in resources in any scale which will
be helpful to the country’s economy, and may be used by the government for present and future
