Type 7532
This is a high-speed LAN interface
module which provides the interface
between Intelligent Data Acquisition
(IDA) system frames and the Local
Area Network. The module provides
the connection between the host com-
puter or an external disk and every
frame in the IDA system (max. cable
length 185 m). An interface module is
required for each frame in the sys-
tem. The interface complies with the
industrial standard for ETHERNET
II, IEEE – 802.3 10, with TCP/IP pro-
tocol and has an effective data flow
of 700 kbytes/s for one frame*.
When only a software trigger is
needed, for example with the Spatial
Transformation of Sound Fields Ap-
plication (Type 7688), synchroniza-
tion and sample clock are generated
internally in Type 7532.
The LAN Interface Module is
equipped with the following inputs
and outputs:

❍ Real-time distribution of global tacho signals
between multiple frames for, e.g., order tracking
❍ 700 kbyte/s data flow rate (LAN interface, effective
data throughput, sequential transmission) for a
single frame. Data transmission increases per
added frame up to saturation limit
❍ Complies with industrial standard for Ethernet II,
IEEE – 802.3 10 base 2
❍ Sampling clock and synchronization input/output
to/from IDA controller modules

This is a 9-pin male D-range con-
nector, conforming to the RS – 232
standard for connection to a termi-
nal or other Data Terminal Equip-
ment via a null-modem. Uses
include system initialization,
frame configuration and start of
self-test.
The module has four 3 mm green
LEDs:
❍ Data Transmit
❍ Data Receive and a TIM 40 module and allows
❍ Clock Active throughput to disk of very long time
❍ Synchronization Active signals (data). The kit is mounted on
the side of Type 7532 as shown in the
SCSI Connector UA1342 photograph.
