You are required to quantify Cotrimoxazole 960 mg Tabs for your Health Facility. The following
information is available;
• Total population the facility serves: 4,000,000
• Attendance at the facility per year is 3,500,000
• 6% of these are pregnant women attending antenatal care
• 30% of the facility’s attendance are adults in the HIV clinic
• Cotrimoxazole is taken by all HIV positive patients for O.Is prophylaxis. Adults take one double
strength tablet daily.
• Cotrimoxazole is procured in pack size of 1000 tablets.

How many packs should be purchased for the following year? Show how you arrived at this answer.
