C. Brief Introduction:

Coconut has been an athletes best friend when it comes to training for it contains
less sugar and helps the digestion of an athlete after workout. It hydrates thoroughly
and serves as an energy drink for some people whose into physical activities. There
are many ways how coconut can be turn into other varieties of food such as
refreshments and delicacies. Using its liquid substance it can be turn into a more
useful and more fascinating type of coconut. The process use to reproduce another
form of variety using coconut is fruit fermentation.

Coconut was derived from the 16th century Portuguese and Spanish word ‘coco’
which actually means ‘skull’’ or ‘head’. In tropical places, specifically in the
Philippines, the process of leaving the raw coconut water into the open air to ferment
in order to turn into vinegar is a widely-known traditional practice. Coconut vinegar is
a product which is acquired from the natural fermentation process with neither
preservatives nor chemicals added. Coconut vinegar can be either made from
coconut water or fermented coconut sap. [ CITATION Ash152 \l 1033 ]
Fruit fermentation is a way to preserve the fruit into another way for it not to be
spoiled compared to the regular span of the freshness of the fruit. Fruits may be
fermented in many ways such as Lactic acid ferment, Alcohol ferment, and Vinegar
ferment. The lactic acid ferment is the first stage achieved by storing a fruit such as
the grapes. When more time is added, alcohol ferment is achieved and in this stage,
wine is the product. At the last stage of the fermentation, vinegar ferment is the finish
product in which it is stored for a long time. Fruits that are common for fermentation
are grapes, mangoes, apples, and many more. [ CITATION Jul17 \l 1033 ]

Coconut is not just an ordinary fruit. It is full of nutrients and minerals where it
nourishes our body without the use of commercialized medicines. It can also be an
antioxidant that protects the cells from damaging free radicals and a good source of
magnesium that reduces blood sugar level where it can lessen the risk of diabetes.
Coconut water can lower cholesterol and reduces blood pressure because it
contains potassium. For sporty people, coconut water is good in restoring hydration
and replenish electrolytes lost during exercise or trainings. Fresh coconut water has
a tremendous flavor and at the same time it is full of minerals and nutrients.

D. Research Questions:
a. What are the processes?
i. Will it be easy?
b. What materials are needed to make this?
i. Is it expensive?
c. What possible trouble that can occur?
i. How can this affect your output?
E. Scope and Delimitation:

The proponents of the study used coconut water to make the said cocotion.
This study only had emphasis to the usage of coconut water. It is only limited to the
creation of vinegar and did not give more acknowledgement on the other uses of
coconuts. However this research aims to improve the taste of the known coconut
vinegar using only the known water that coconut produces. The proponents
recommend that further research of other coconut uses must be considered. This
research is only applicable to regions that have coconuts. Lastly the proponents had
limited access to coconuts leading to small amount of resource.
