BALOCHISTAN HIGHLIGHTS COVID-19
COVID-19 is now lurking dilemma and effected the most vulnerable especially with co-morbidities. Due to social norms
people avoid to declare patient dying with COVID-19 and hesitant to inform the local and health authorities who reflect bias
especially in death list of Balochistan considering these facts, the death policy must be revised to find and detect the
underreported death. The following protocol is using to minimize any bias death reporting.
Deaths declared by the clinician of the hospital and lab-verified as of coronavirus are taken into the official line list of the
Operation Cell, Health Department, GoB whereas no mechanism is in place to consider those who died in the hospital in
Probable of coronavirus OR whose lab-investigation was underway and not followed-up after the death. Such prior deaths
will be verified by the respective clinicians of the hospital after considering all sign & symptoms and may declare it as COVID-
19-based death or non COVID-19 to be further incorporated in official line list of coronavirus disease accordingly. By
following above mention criteria, the last two weeks’ Probable deaths (Please check last page for probable death case
definition) have been taken from community (homebased) and hospitals. Due to increasing local transmission and less
following disease prevention protocols the mortality (Deaths) are increasing. The deaths are confirmed (53) & Probable (46).

LIMITED EPIDEMIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF 4393 CASES TILL 1st June 2020

Graph 07: DOUBLING OF CASES TO 500: The graph shows a smooth pattern of reporting of 500 cases within first 42 days evident to the
newly entry of virus and strict lockdown, restricting people inside home, however a clear picture of rise in coronavirus cases can be seen
through first 500 cases reported over completion of early 42 days which turned twice to 1000 cases within a week. This pattern
continued rising to next 500 cases in the next 7 days cumulating 1500 cases within 2 weeks and this pattern clearly explain increasing of
cases due to very fast local transmission. The recent addition of 500 cases the total cases crossed 5500 within 24 hours alone taking this
number to ultimate hype. The hype in reporting of the sudden cases was in result of relaxation in the lockdown during EID days, letting
masses to move out, extrovertly visiting shopping places and un-necessary outdoor visit most probably.
