I use this activity within the first day or

two of school.

Students trace and cut their hand.

Depending on ability, they may need
help.
They glue the poem on top of a piece of
construction paper, the hand
underneath the poem, and the red
heart on top of the hand. The next page
is an example of what the page may
look like.
