Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

With the use of the Nearpod interactive tool, my students were fully engaged in the assignments and
assessments that were given to them. For students who may struggle to pay attention during tests or may
need some form of feedback during a lesson or assessment, this tool is very engaging and helpful to them.
Lesson idea implementation:
The teachers will start by explaining the use and purpose of using the interactive software, Nearpod. Once
explained, the students will be taking a brief assessment on the uses of social media and what it means to
them. The assessment will have multiple different forms of questions, so each student can then expect to
complete the assignment in a way that they would enjoy most. Once all students finish their assessment, we
will go over the answers as a class and talk about the importance of social media in our society.

The Nearpod assignment should only take up to 15 minutes or less to complete. The completed assignment
can be used to help the students learn from any mistake made or used to educate the teacher on what type
of questions work better for those students. If you have students who need a little more of a challenge, you
can add a few harder questions or create a completely new set of questions for those students. To conclude
the lesson, students will be given the task to write down what they liked, what the y didn’t like, and what they
feel like could improve the lesson in a response box on Nearpod. All responses will be given personal
feedback and will be taken into consideration.
Reflective Practice: I feel as if these activities can greatly impact the learning and the assessment piece of
education. Students can operate the app easily and can be assessed in a way that does not seem boring.
Making it a competition between the students can male it to where they will want to do their best each and
every time they use Nearpod. This lesson can be extended by adding other interactive software’s to the
program. Something involving presentations style teaching can be added to Nearpod to further the
comprehension of the students.
