JOB DESCRIPTION:

Throughout the construction period up to completion, the Commissioning Field Operator will
become familiar with the design; layout and ongoing status of the systems assigned and will
monitor and assist with all pre-commissioning activities.
During the commissioning phase the Commissioning Field Operator will inspect, test and operate
systems and associated equipment, applying commissioning procedures and vendor procedures.
Duties of during pre-commissioning includes: Witnesses and assists in the pre-commissioning of
systems through close liaison with construction and subcontractor personnel.
Ensured all pre-commissioning activities are completed to the necessary quality in accordance with
the system pre-commissioning work plans.
Carried out and completes record sheets for equipment tests, blind isolations, temporary closures,
internal inspections, safety checks, and media loading.
Reviewed systems for operability and operational safety, and where necessary proposes punch
queries for supervisory review.
Duties during commissioning includes, Carries out commissioning static and dynamic tests, and
signs off checklists and method statement records to confirm the activities Have been satisfactorily
completed.
Ensured that the project safety regulations are applied in his area of responsibility in order to
maintain an accident-free environment.
Support to the Site Construction Manager for the update of the pre-commissioning schedule driving
completion priorities.
Ensured that the proper resources (personnel, equipment, consumables, temporary facilities) are
mobilized and deployed for the timely execution of all pre-commissioning activities,
Manage the pre-commissioning activities executed in self-performance and to supervise the
activities executed by sub-contractors.
Assisted the Subcontracting Team for the preparation of specialized subcontracts.
Coordinated with the Field Engineering Team for the resolution of all technical issues raised in the
field.
Coordinated the simultaneous activities of vendors, subcontractors and disciplines during these tests
to enable maximum functionality of equipment to be demonstrated.
Monitored the safe conduct of the work and ensuring the work permit safety conditions are being
met.
Starts up and operates equipment during testing and in early utility service, until the system is turned
over from commissioning to operations.
Verbal handover from outgoing shift operator during shift change over and reading of shift handover
notes after taking over the charge to check for any operational changes and regarding any jobs to be
followed up.
Monitoring and logging of a Process System and adjustment of Operating Parameters.
Visual and audible inspection of process area on a regular basis, checking sight glasses, pressure &
temperature gauges, flow meters, pipe work and pumps for leaks or excess vibration.
Reading sheets to record any parameter changes
Isolation, De-isolation and Preparing ICC (Isolation confirmation certificate) and Permits.
Preparing and executing nitrogen purging for maintenance job.
Operating and maintaining all types of rotating equipment like Pumps, and Compressor.
Change over running equipment’s as per plan.
Check for leaking flanges and valves Check for leaking pump seals and oil levels in pump
Check drain & vent valves passing.
Flushing the instrument bridles / trolls at regular intervals.
Draining of water from the instrument air regulators etc.
Any visual corrosion on the pipelines and valves.
