Strategy of my company

Following the corporate philosophy of “Kyosei” my company is committed to creating

new values through diversified products and services based on advanced technologies and
platforms while creating good relationships with customers, business partners and the global
environment. This approach involves contributing to efforts to solve issues that face the
global community by reinforcing and expanding businesses with high social demand, such as
healthcare, security and industrial robots with a focus on diagnostic equipment that enables
advanced medical treatments, network cameras supporting safe, efficient social infrastructure,
and industrial equipment underpinning the IT used in advanced technologies for daily life.

The concise definition of Canon’s philosophy “Kyosei” would be “ Leaving and

working together for the common good” but our definition and strategy is broader: “All
people, regardless of race, religion and culture, harmoniously living and working together into
the future”. Through corporate activities mentioned above, Canon strives to resolve imbalance
in the world. We think that truly global companies must foster good relations, not only with
their customers and the communities in which they operate, but also with nations and
environment. They must also bear the responsibility for the impact of their activities on
society. For this reason, Canon’s goal is to contribute to global prosperity and the well-being
of mankind, which will lead to continuing growth and bring the world closer to achieving our
philosophy “ Kyosei”.
