Branch: Mechatronics Section/Group: B
Semester: 3rd Date of Performance: 28/7/2020
Subject Name: Digital Electronics Lab Subject Code: MTP-207

1. Aim/Overview of the practical:To design and study the inverting and non-inverting modes
of Op-Amp

2. Task to be done:Designing inverting and non-inverting circuit in virtual lab and analyse their
waveform and also check the change in output voltage.

3. Apparatus: Dual power supply (0-+15V), signal generator (0-3MHz), CRO (0-30MHz), IC 741,
resistor etc.
4. Steps for experiment/practical:
For inverting amplifier
Connect the components as mentioned below:
L1-L3, L4-L7, L4-L5, L6-L9, L8-L12. (For e.g. click on 1 and then drag to 3 and so on.)
Click on 'Check Connection' button to check the connections.
If connected wrong click on 'Delete all connection' button to erase all the connections.
Set the Resistance (R1) Value (1 Kohm - 50 Kohm).
Set the Feedback Resistance (Rf) Value (2 Kohm - 100 Kohm).
Set input voltage (Vin) (-15 to 15 V).
Now note the output voltage and click on 'Add to table' button.
Increase the input voltage by a factor of 2
Click on 'Plot' button to plot the output voltage vs input voltage.
Repeat the experiment for another set of resistance value.
For non- inverting amplifier
Connect the components as mentioned below:
L1-L8, L4-L7, L4-L5, L6-L9, L3-L12.(For e.g. click on 1 and then drag to 3 and so on.)

1. 2 5 15 4 8 0.0544
2. 4 10 25 3.5 14 0.404
3. 6 15 35 3.33 20 0.404
6. Calculations:

7. Percentage error (if any or applicable):difference in practical and theoretical gain

N/A
8. Results: Thus, the inverting and non-inverting amplifier circuits using OP-Amp IC 741 are
designed, constructed and tested. From this experiment, it is clear that gain as well as output
voltage in non-inverting amplifier is more in comparison to the inverting amplifier. In inverting
amplifier circuit, output waveform is at 1800 from input waveform.
