ITC Summer Internship Projects

We have collated some projects done by ITC interns in the


past years to give you a taste of how your actual internship
will look like and how you need to prepare for the same
Channel expansion:

Project 1:

Study distribution network of Handwash:


• You need to map wholesale and retail outlets in specific regions and
devise sell-in and sell-out plans for the same.
• You need to benchmark against industry players, survey 95+ outlets to
gauge market interest in the offerings
• You need to implement the pilot for 4 weeks and understand market
response to key recommendations.
GTM Strategy

Project 2:
Develop Strategy of X product in Wholesale channel leading to improved sales
and share: You need to understand working of wholesale channel, identify
concerns of stakeholders and accordingly suggest the strategy to improve sales.

Project 3:
Design Launch plan for new category:
• You need to design end-to-end market entry strategy far a new category
• You need to perform market research, consumer and supply chain analysis and
competitor benchmarking
• You need to propose marketing mix, trade margins, and test market the
product among target group
Digital Marketing

Project 3:
Create and implement digital based social media strategy for X product: You need
to study the current trends, identify right target group, get insights about your
consumer and draft communication for them.
GTM Strategy

Project 5:

Development of market strategy for X product to garner share from Y brand:


• You need to understand in depth about consumer’s attitudes, habits , beliefs,
and usage patterns related to the category
• You need to study how the pattern has changed over time.
• You need to do competitor analysis to understand belief and imagery of
various brands in consumer’s mind.
• Design the go-to-market plan basis the above findings and validate with
consumers through concept checks
Innovation Pipelines

Project 6:

Formulate entry strategy to get into new Business category:


• You need to identify potential opportunities for this category in various sectors
• You need to study the competitive scenario and perform need gap analysis
• You need to identify appropriate location and positioning strategy for the new
product line
Customer Development:

Project 7:

You need to understand customer organisation and benchmark customer


development practices of various FMCG companies with ITC. You may need to do
both primary and secondary research , and can use consumer engagement funnel
to understand their current strategy.
Sales/ Brand Activations:

Project 8:

You need to increase the range in grocery outlets for confectionary category

Project 9:
You need to create and execute merchandising for premium biscuits in grocery
channel

Project 10:
You need to study and develop superior in-store visibility solutions to increase
point-of-sales salience in general trade outlets in case of Biscuits, Noodles, chips
and soaps.
Portfolio Management

Project 11:

Recommend best product mix and service pack in personal care for Chemist
Channel:
• You need to determine rationale for stocking FMCG products at chemist
outlet
• You need to do analysis of stocking hierarchy for 100 chemist basis which
product mix to be recommended
• You need to do Competitor analysis for determining service pack
HR/ Organizational Structure

Project 12:

Comparative study of Organization Structures Operating within the FMCG


Industry:
You need to study benchmark with relation to
1. Frontline Organization Structures of various FMCG companies
2. Metrics in place in various organizations for measuring structural efficiency
3. Alignment Linkages of Logistics and Supply chain with Sales team
