3.1-Methodology:-
A total area of 14 km will be monitored along Ferozepur road from Mozang chungi to Qainchi
East in order to determine the potential sources and level of pollution. A questionnaire will be
performed to assess the health status and the perceived effects of air and noise pollution on
workers, laborers, shopkeepers, residents, and traffic wardens at and around the monitoring
sites.. Statistical analysis will be performed to calculate the results.

3.2-Study area:-

The area chosen for the present study is located along Ferozepur road, Lahore from Mozang
chungi to Qainchi East. There are 34 points selected at an area of about 14 km for air and noise
monitoring. The study area includes a combination of industrial, commercial and residential area
with thick population trends. There are multiple points that experiences heavy traffic throughout
the day like Ichhara,South and North Canal,kalma chowk,Naseerabad and model town courts.

3.4-Climatic Conditions:-

Lahore’s has a semi-arid climate with 5 different seasons. The five seasons includes winters from
15 Nov to 16 Feb, spring from 16 Feb to 15 April, summers from 15 April to June, monsoon
from July – 16 September and autumn from 16 September –14 November. The hottest month is
June with highest average temperature of 40`C while the coolest month is January. July
experiences heavy rainfall and thunderstorms so it the wettest month around the year.

3.5-Environmental Monitoring:-

The parameters to be monitored includes TSP and Noise. Daily monitoring will be carried out
for whole week, thrice a day: morning (08:00-10:00), afternoon (13:00-15:00) and evening
(18:00-20:00).TSP will be monitored using Micro Dust Pro Casella Cell/CEL-712 while for
noise levels digital sound level meter was employed.Temperture,wind speed, wind direction,uv
Index and humidity will be determined using AccuWeather.Seasonal monitoring will be done.

3.6-Questionnaire Survey:-

Questionnaire is designed to analyze the effects of air and noise pollution on workers, laborers,
shopkeepers, residents, and traffic wardens at and around the monitoring sites. The questionnaire
designed includes demographics information, questions related to noise and air pollution and its
effects. The respondents are randomly selected for the study regardless of their age, educational
status, sex, and occupation. Each respondent is given 10 minutes for filling the questionnaire.

3.7-Statistical analysis:-

The results from the questionnaire will be statistically analyzed by using software SPSS.
