Lesson 1: What do you mean bigger?

Key Concepts
Dance is an artistic expression through movement. To make it simple, just dancing
anything is already an ART! It’s already beautiful all you have to do is make it look
better by making YOU look better. It does not mean wearing beautiful dress, shoes,
make up or fancy hat. You already look good! By believing in that you will be more
confident, you are going to move bigger and express yourself more. Remember,
nothing is more beautiful than a dancer who enjoys what she is doing and doing it
with full confidence not caring of what the audience thinks of his/her dance.

Taking care of yourself also of course makes your dance look better. Eating healthy,
getting enough sleep specially on a day for being physically active for the day and
drinking enough water BEFORE and AFTER an activity is a great help.

II- Enrichment

Continue doing the activity 1on mornings on every other day. Doing it
thrice a week will be enough. Always remember to drink your water after
the activity and get a full night sleep every day. Don’t push yourself to
increase the number of each activities unless your instructor said so.
Lesson 1: What do you mean bigger?

III- Assessment

1. Rhythm/Tempo – Ability to stay in time with the music. Outstandingly

accurate in beat, tempo, rhythms and dance sequences

2. Enthusiasm- Involvement in the emotion or mood of the dance. Facial

expressions and body language are always used to generate a strong
interest and enthusiasm. Demonstrates enthusiasm by showing energy in
movements and giving their best Overall attitude and confidence towards
the dance.

3. Choreographed Sequences
Complete dance with lots of confidence, making few errors. Rarely needs
to follow instructor in performing all sequences.

4. Steps and Directions - Understands and follows all dance terms and
directions given. Accurately performs all dance steps with ease

5. Participation and Safety / Behavior – Participates in the activity with few

prompts given by the instructor.
