Visiting Lecturer Assistant Professor—Music Theory/Composition

Job Announcement

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites applications for a one-year appointment in
music theory and composition at the rank of Visiting Lecturer to begin on August 17, 2020.

The primary responsibility of this position includes teaching courses in upper-level music
theory classes such as form and analysis, post-tonal processes, counterpoint, orchestra and
arranging, and core musicianship courses as well as teach one-on-on composition lessons. This
is a one-year appointment.

Requirements: Candidates must hold an appropriate terminal degree (ABD will be considered)
and possess a high level of musicianship; have demonstrated success in teaching music theory
and composition to undergraduates; and have a commitment to diversity and inclusion. UNC

context of an urban research university
