This is regarding the prevailing condition arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country and the advisory issued by the Government of Kamataka. The Institute has already issued advisory vide notification dated 14" March 2020, 18° March 2020, 20" March 2020, 26" March 2020 and 14° April 2020 respectively, The residents of the campus and the faculty were requested to stay home, avoid social gatherings and maintain social distancing to prevent the spread of the virus. NITK Surathkal under Dakshina Kannada district has been categorized as ‘Red Zone’ on COVID-19 map. District administration has already issued several instructions/ guidelines to the Institute for strict compliance. Accordingly four Guest House and four Hostels are already allocated for quarantine zone. Twenty people are already accommodated in ‘Himalaya Tower" by the District ‘Administration for quarantine purpose. Under the circumstances, as a preventive measure the movement of the residents including staff and students are restricted beyond the road connecting Adke circle to Post office gate. All are requested not to go beyond this boundary for their own safely. itis also requested to use mask and hand sanitizer mandatory while moving inside the campus. However, Banks and Post office shall remain accessible as per the Government instructions.
