Back To The Future: A Reaction Paper
Back To The Future: A Reaction Paper
Back to the future is probably one of the greatest movies I have ever seen. There
are films where you need to force yourself to pay attention to and there are also films
where you just effortlessly enjoy watching it and I could say that this movie is the latter.
Well, the film was made 30 years ago and I didn’t have the chance to watch it until my
professor recommend it. At first I thought it will be boring since it was an old film and I’m
expecting the worst quality and mediocre storyline but the opposite happened. I was
surprised to how every aspect of the movie fits together. Every detail was flawless, from
the theme and genre, quality of the film, storyline, score and special effects and of
When it comes to genre, Back to the future is one of the best science-fiction
movies in the 80’s that was ever made. It is not just those typical sci-fi movies but it is
also a humorous one. It has all the elements that would make someone laugh and
thrillingly be surprised. The good thing about this movie is that it is for everyone,
children, teenagers, adults and can be watched together by families or friends. I also
love how the film could be a mix of drama, sci-fi, comedy and suspense and perfectly
The quality of the film left me happy and satisfied. I never expected it to be
aesthetically pleasing with the fact that it was an old film. I thought I would have to
endure and force myself to watch some substandard film for 1 hour and 56 minutes. I
was really wrong, I have to admit that I could watch this movie all over again.
One thing that made me love this movie was its storyline. Back to the Future is
something that makes you really think. I could have in-depth conversation about this
movie with anyone. I could spend hours discussing the film without getting tired
because the story really caught my attention. Time travel is indeed a difficult subject to
execute and cover in a movie, although there were time travel discrepancies that may
be found in the plot ,as what have said by some people but the writers, Bob Gale and
Robert Zemeckis still pulled it off. Also, the concept of time travelling never bore
anyone because it is very interesting. It is what most people must have thought about. It
is a thought since then. The questions never ends with “is it possible” but also with
“what would happen if I go back in time and changed my past, would it cause me any
better or it would just make my life worse?”. It is a curiosity to think about. I would also
like to bring up how beautiful the script was. The punch lines are the best. The drama
parts soften my heart. It was written with the purpose of attachment. A great film with a
great script.
The score and soundtrack of the movie is one of the best scores in movie history.
It was a mixture of suspense/thriller, epic and uplifting. The score composition was
memorable especially in the emotional scenes. The soundtrack is one of the most
recognizable themes. It reminds me of the soundtrack in the Wizard of Oz. The special
effects is extraordinary. The lights and magic is dazzling and stunning. These two
every actors were undeniably great. I would like to acknowledge the solid performances
of the duo, Michael J. Fox for portraying Marty McFly with so much energy and
Christopher Lloyd as brilliant as his role, Dr. Emmett Doc Brown. Fox bringing so much
laughs and charisma to his role and Lloyd having a fantastic chemistry with Fox. Their
connection from each other in the Back to the Future 1 up to the 3 rd which is the last
installment of the trilogy strongly works like a flux capacitor! I would never forget how
Back to the Future is truly a classic masterpiece. It is such a wonderful film that is
impossible to forget every detail of it. I don’t think I could ever get sick of it because
all ages. I have never encounter such great science fiction old film. It was worth sharing
and talking about. It’s kinda sad that it lasts up to three parts but it was unforgettable.
This film will always be remembered by most of the people and that includes me. If I
would to rate this film, I would give 10/10 because it is indeed rare, one of kind and one
of the best movies not just in the 80’s but up until now.
