P15.3.

9 The UGW shall note that there may be utilities diversion works carried out by
the utility authority’s’ contractors / subcontractors. The UGW shall cooperate
fully and render assistance to the utility authorities and their
contractors/subcontractors in carrying out the aforesaid works. The UGW
shall work closely and coordinate with the utility authorities and their
contractors / subcontractors to ensure that the area which the utilities are to
be diverted are adequately prepared before the proposed diversion. The
UGW shall provide attendance to such contractor’s works.

P15.3.10 The UGW shall note that where his proposed gas lines diversion are to be
supported over the cut and cover excavation, the works shall be in
accordance to the gas authority requirements and cost of the said works are
deemed to have included this in the awarded Contract Price.

P15.3.11 The UGW shall note where water services of cast iron pipe with lead-caulked
joints and/or pipes with sprocket-spigot joints are to be supported over the
excavation, the existing pipe shall be changed to ductile iron or mild steel
pipe subjected to the relevant authority’s approval, at the UGW’s cost.

P15.4 Building Service Connections

P15.4.1 Building service connections shall be maintained and protected during the
execution of the Works.

P15.4.2 Building service connections shall include the branch pipes from the main
water pipe, water meter chambers / bulk meter, sewer and drainage
discharge pipes, gas supply pipes, grease traps, telecommunication and
electrical power cables, etc.

P15.4.3 If instructed by the authorities, these services shall be identified on site by


trial trenches or other methods approved by the utility authorities and the
Employer’s Representative. Where these services interfere with the Works,
the UGW shall propose methods of treatment for the approval of the utility
authorities, relevant parties and the Employer’s Representative. The full cost
of these treatments shall be borne by the UGW.

P15.5 Service Ducts affected by the Works

P15.5.1 Service duct routes and empty duct provisions for utilities that are blocked or
damaged during the course of the Works shall be cleared or replaced to the
acceptance of the relevant utility authorities, other relevant parties and the
Employer’s Representative.
