Foundation Design For 230 KV Transformer

Project: Design, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of 230 KV Indoor GIS Substation with 132 kV AIS at Faridpur and
GIS Bay Ex-tension of existing 230/132 kV Barisal (North) AIS Substation on turnkey basis
Design of Pile Reinforcement
Compression plus bending case
Maximum compression, N = 380000 N
Corresponding bending moment, M = 60000000 N-mm

we will use design graph (Annexure-1) for pile design

here,

h = Pile diameter = 500 mm

2
Ac = 196350 mm
γc = 1.5
concrete strength = 20 Mpa
yield strength of rebar = 500 Mpa
From graph,
  N
ν v c  = 0.097
 1.5  f c Ac
  M
μ   c  = 0.031
 1.5  f c Ac h
  c  Atot f y
ω    = 0.1
 1.5  Ac f c 2
So, As = 1.5ωAcfc/γcfy = 785.4 mm
2
Minimum rebar requirement in pile 0.4% = 785.4 mm
Rebar area need to be provided = 785.4 mm2
main rebar for pile consider = 16 mm
Rebar needed = 4 nos
Provide 6nos. 16 mm dia bar as longitudinal reinforcement

Tension plus bending case

Maximum uplift, N = 0.00 N
Corresponding bending moment, M = 0.00 N-mm
