NEGATIVE PRESSURE ROOM

Negative pressure room is also called an isolation room. This type of Hospital room is
best for isolating infectious and airborne diseases such as SARS, tuberculosis, MERS, measles
and COVID-19. This room traps potentially harmful particles inside the room by lowering the
negative pressure of the room to allow the air to recirculate and filters the airborne particles
through the HEPA filter then control it from moving outside the room. The temperature and
pressure of the room must be monitored because of sudden changes, if the amount of air
exchange increases the patient might feel uncomfortable. The air purification unit must be
connected to emergency power supply to maintain the air pressurisation in time of power
failure.

Anteroom is required in a negative pressure room. It is the place where the health workers
wear their personal protective equipment in order to protect them from contagious particles.
The anteroom must have enough space for the health worker to remove and wear their
protective equipment and storage. This room is also a barrier of negative room to the corridor
if the pressure is lost.

The air purification unit is designed for the purposes of filtering airborne pathogens and
other particulate contaminants through the air. The unit is designed for the use of a capture
source on the wall behind a patient bed. The air quantity of this unit is with an external static
pressure of 400cfm at O.1"WG at low-speed and 600cfm at 0.1"WG at high-speed external
static pressure. The air purification is controlled from a remote pressure monitor to operate a
two-speed blower. The remote pressure monitor is recommended to be mounted on the wall
near the door of the room.

The HEPA filter with an approximate 16 "x 45" x 3 7/8 "depth is the primary filter for this
unit. The filter has 99.99% of 0.3-micron particles with a high-efficiency rating. The filter face is
protected during installation by a perforated grid so that the user does not touch it. The filters
are gel seal and must contain a frame of aluminum, not a wood type so that bacterial growth
can be avoided. A UV lamp in the middle of the panel is also installed to evenly irradiate the
filter face and the UV light is dispersed through a polished light reflector.

The air purification unit is supplied by the manufacturer with a wall mounting plate
designed specially for the wall to be placed on the wall. The plating with an aluminum thickness
of 0.09 " is not in danger of creating troughs on the negative side of the unit. The cover of the
access must be installed on the piano hinge and must be equipped with gas props, keylock and
sightglass in checking the UV lamp functionality. A white powder coat baked finish is used to

paint the access and external surfaces of the cabinet. To increase the source capture effect, the
air inlet position at the bottom must be an angle of 45 degrees.

I. AEROMED 100C, 350C, & 600C (www.qualitair.ca)

This unit is a low-profile air purifier mounted on a ceiling that is fitted into a grid of 2’ x 2’.
This device is simple to install and consists of two separate components that enable one person
to easily install. This device is controlled by an on/off switch that is installed on a wall under the
device for easy to operate. A filter pressure gauge and an hour meter can be chosen for the
client on the remote control. This device can be used for recirculation or filtration of exhaust
airborne microparticles. It is combined of two filters to provide optimal air purification, one is
the pre-filter with 30% and the HEPA filter with a 99.97% rate. The device is typically used in
insulating rooms, examination rooms and waiting areas. The air may be recirculated to the
room after it has passed through the HEPA filter to generate the negative pressure by
exhausting the room.

II. AEROMED 700C (www.qualitair.ca)

This unit is a portable air purifier, the only portable unit thin enough and high enough to be
installed behind the bed. This device is controlled by a key switch and this provides ease of use
while maintaining tamper resistant operation. This device can be used for recirculation or
filtration of exhaust airborne microparticles. It is combined of three filters to provide optimal air
purification. The pre-filter with 30%, HEPA filter with a 99.97% rate and especially the
intermediate filter with 95% rate. The use of an intermediate filter is to extend the life of HEPA
and reduce the maintenance cost. This device also have UV lamp to add more protection from

airborne pathogens. The device is typically used in insulating rooms, examination rooms and
waiting areas.

POSITIVE PRESSURE ROOM

The positive pressure room is a room commonly used in operating rooms and
laboratories. In rooms adjacent to a negative pressure room, positive pressure can be applied.
This room is also used for isolating patients with a low immune system. The positive pressure
room means that the pressure in this room is higher than the pressure outside. The purpose of
this room is to block the air coming from the outside. It means that the air in the positive
pressure room is not circulating. This filters out any airborne particle that comes from the
room. This room protects vulnerable patients from harmful airborne micro-pathogens that can
result in infections or disease. The cleanest rooms in the hospital are normally regarded as
positively pressurized rooms.

MAC 10 IQ (www.qualitair.ca)

The smart fan filter unit is the first in the world. This unit has a microcomputer-
controlled DC motor, which can be adjusted dynamically to keep the airflow in a set state and
offset static pressure changes, filter charging, and other local conditions. Low-sound, low
energy, and low profile with high performance and integrated intelligent controls are offered by
this unit. To make this unit intelligent and sustainable, the Dc motor technology was combined
with Envirco's patented fan baffling system.

Every MAC 10 IQ contains a visual control system with a constant airflow volume of 250-
660 CFM over a wide range of static pressure. The EC motor of this unit automatically adjusts its
torque and speed in contrast to other conventional induction engines.

SIZES:
2’x4’, 2’x3.5’, 2’x3’ and 2’x2’
Available in standard and
room-side-replaceable filters.
