June 8, 1998.She was a Peruvian archaeologist and mathematician. She was born in Germany but was nationalized in Peru. She had two brothers, Renata and Franz. She was a graduate of the Technical University of Dresden. She arrived in Peru in 1932 to educate the children of the German consul in the city of Cusco. Where she offered her services as a gym teacher, German and English. She is considered a hero because she cared for, preserved the Nazca lines, and dedicated herself to spreading the theory of the Nazca geoglyphs. This happened in 1937, she was 34 years old when she made the radical decision to move to Lima and build a small house near the lines. Thanks to her, the Nazca lines were recognized as a World Heritage Site and received posthumous recognition from the Peruvian government. We chose Maria Reiche because she was a hardworking, generous, intelligent and especially empowered woman. In this project I learned that Maria Reiche was an educator in areas of extreme poverty. I didn't know she died of ovarian cancer. I was surprised that I lived alone in an austere house far from the population. In my case I could not do the same, I could not live far from my family.
