INTERACTIVE Activities:
SYNCHRONOU ⮚ Have students review the concepts of pronunciation in English.
S SESSION ⮚ Have students learn the consonant clusters with the S.
(HOUR 3)

Instructions for Teacher role: direct instruction through guiding questions; interact to
teachers continue the discussion

Student role: participate actively in introduction; share questions.

Resources: Breakdown, blackboard important sites.

Activity 1 (30 minutes)

Introduce students to consonant cluster with the S. Initiate students with


some review about the importance of the pronunciation of the English
language. Let them know how different it is from the Spanish language.
Teach them how to emphasize and to exaggerate the sounds in English.

1. Present a video where this topic is explained.

2. Have students do some exercises with this structure. Perhaps you
could have a list of words on the board (screen) and have them
practice by taking turns.
3. You could also show students other errors in pronunciation students
usually make which might interest students too.

Activity 2 (30 minutes)

Conversation: You could bring a topic of conversation for students to share


where you could have students share comments and be able to practice their
pronunciation. Perhaps a controversial topic of the day could work. This is
an opportunity to flip the classroom and have them be more participative.
