Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome back to the 2020-2021 school year! My name is Amie Fullett and this year I am the new
Kindergarten-3rd Grade Diverse Learner teacher. I am beginning my 4th year here at Ray School and I
am so excited to be working with your student! I have taught diverse learners in grades 3-8 prior to this
year and I completed my student teaching at Ray School during the 2016-2017 school year.

I am originally from Michigan. I attended Michigan State University and received my Bachelor's degree in
Special Education-Learning Disabilities with a Language Arts endorsement in the spring of 2016. In the
spring of 2020, I received my Masters degree in Special Education Leadership: Multi-Tiered Systems of
Support-also through Michigan State...Go Green! Outside of the classroom I love to read, workout, bike
ride, explore the wonderful sites Chicago has to offer and spend my summers in Michigan with family and
friends.

I know this year will look a little different, given the circumstances however, I am confident that in
partnership we can achieve the same goals and foster a love of learning in each student as we navigate
through remote learning!

I will be seeing your student daily and this schedule will be based off of their homeroom schedule and
student IEP minutes and will send individual schedules to each student and parent when this becomes
available. Students will be participating in both live virtual instruction, as well as completing activities and
assignments off of the computer. Attendance will be taken and students will be receiving grades for their
work. In my class we will be utilizing a variety of curriculums, including the Wilson Reading System for
phonics, decoding and spelling. Students will turn in work using Google Classroom. Additionally, some
grades are sending home packets on a weekly/bi-weekly basis for students to complete and return to
school.

The platform we will be using is Google Classroom. Students will enroll in both my class and their
homeroom class. If they see me for all of their math minutes, then they will be completing math work only
in my class. In most cases, students will be seeing myself and their homeroom teacher for all subjects, in
which I will be collaborating with the homeroom teacher to modify assignments. Students will be meeting
virtually using Google Meet. The Google Meet link will be at the top left hand corner of our class google
classroom page. In some cases, students will also be in breakout groups participating in small group and
independent activities. The next page will explain how to enroll in Google Classroom with the class code.

As a communication tool, we will be using Remind. This can be downloaded as an application or website
and I will be inviting parents using emails, phone numbers or both. Please let me know which method you
prefer. www.remind.com (code:msfullett)

I will also post below the list of reading and math applications we will be using in our class along with the
class codes. In some instances, students will enroll once classes begin. I will also be updating the class
website weekly with important updates and announcements so please be sure to check that! The link is
www.fullettray.weebly.com. This link is also on the Ray School website.

It will be essential to establish daily routines that mirror what a typical school day would be like. Students
are also expected to read at least 30 minutes each day.
Google Classroom: Students will login to Google using their CPS gmail account. Once logged in, at the
top right corner there will be a square with 9 dots-click that! You will then see applications pop up. Once
you see “Classroom” you will click that. There will be an option to “join” and after clicking that you will then
xcxwcz. You will be all set! Students will see their work that is assigned to them.
enter this code: x
They may revisit the documents as many times as needed but need to click “TURN IN” to officially
submit the assignment for a grade. If they have turned in an assignment that is not completed,
they can click “unsubmit,” finish the assignment and then click “TURN IN” again.
