Loving Loud in COVID Times
It has been a real challenge with God’s people
returning to worship during COVID-19. Our MBA
churches have also struggled with helping meet
human need in an environment where sheltering in
place is encouraged. That being said, God has raised
volunteer missionaries around the River Region who,
like first responders, have cautiously but courageously
looked for ways to help families with food in dire
times. With the help of the Love Loud River Region

Director of Missions Rolling Store, MBA churches have carried food into
all five counties of Central Alabama: urban, suburban,
towns, and rural. As the MBA ministers across the River Region, lets
focus on and celebrate the ongoing work in Lowndes County.
Since May, volunteer missionaries have delivered over 11 tons of food
into Lowndes County from the food bank as well as several deliveries
of milk and produce boxes given through other partnerships. The River
Region Rolling Store Bus has crossed over into this rural area 10 times
during the summer. It has been stated that over 700 families have been
blessed in some way as recipients of the food purchased and delivered
by Montgomery Baptists and other kingdom warriors. Altogether, the
Montgomery Baptist Association has spent over $94,000.00 to carry
forth the ministry of the gospel with Love Loud Lowndes County. To
God be the glory!
In the Fall of 2019, work began on the remodeling of the Love Loud
Lowndes County Mobilization Center. Ron Parnell and Trevor Perry
have led their army of volunteer construction guys under extreme
conditions. From the 100-degree heat in October when they were
putting on a roof, to the frigid cold of January, to the literal halt of the
work because of COVID-19, these men have persevered and are now
back to finishing the project. Thank you, brothers, for leading
Montgomery Baptists in this often thankless task.
The “bricked up” double-wide trailer under construction was received
for Montgomery Baptist’s use after helping a local church find a better
facility. We partnered with ALSBOM to pay the expenses of
transporting the quadplex for this congregation from Tuscaloosa.
Securing the double-wide facility has and will enable the MBA to do
the following in Lowndes County:
♦ Use as a mobilization center for volunteer missionaries to gather
and prepare to carry the gospel further into Lowndes County
through human need ministry.
♦ Use as an equipping center for partners that need space in such a
rural area to assist with vocational training as well as health care
training/services (i.e., HIM Ministry, etc.).
♦ Use as a small food pantry to host a place to provide foodbank
supplies for the SBC churches of Lowndes County who are
assisting their area of the county by meeting human need and
gospel sharing.
We are in a season of prayer and fasting regarding the next steps to
help MBA churches assist our friends in this rural community. We
invite you to join us. During this season, let us finish the construction
of the Mobilization Center. We are in desperate need of additional
