PRE CALCULUS GRADING SYSTEM

TESTS Tests will always be announced and will be worth 50 % of your

marking period grade.

QUIZZES Quizzes are not always announced and will be worth 25% of your
marking period grade. Pop-quizzes can be given at any time, so it
is necessary to study nightly and do each homework assignment
carefully.

HOMEWORK Homework is worth 15% of your marking period grade.

Homework will be assigned every night and checked every day.
An acceptable homework assignment will be done neatly with
ALL work shown and every problem attempted. Each homework
assignment is worth 1 point. An unacceptable or missed
assignment will be given 0 points.
Making up a missed assignment
The assignment for each day will be posted on the
bulletin board. It is your responsibility to find out the
assignments you have missed.
If you miss a homework assignment, you can make it up and show
it to me the next day and receive half credit.
If you are absent you are responsible for looking on the assignment
sheet and making up the missed assignments. You will get two
days for each missed day and receive full credit for those
assignments.

CLASSWORK Classwork is 10% of your marking period grade. Your classwork

is a combination of several items.
Class/Group/Lab assignments: These are assignments that are to
be done during the class period. Each assignment is worth 10
points. These assignments can only be made up if you are absent
from school on the day of the assignment.
Problem of the day: When you are assigned a Problem of the
Day you are to do the problem at the beginning of class. All work
must be shown and any explanations written out in full sentences.
Each Problem of the Day is worth 2 points.
