I. Unlocking of Difficulties:
 Compare is to estimate, measure, or note the similarity or
dissimilarity between
 Adjectives are words or phrases naming an attribute, added to or
grammatically related to a noun to modify or describe it.
 Adjectives for Degree of Comparisons are words used to
compare differences between the two noun they modify.
Adjective are used in 3 different degrees:
 Positive
 Comparative
 Superlative
a. Positive Degree an adjective or adverb that does not make a direct
comparison;
b. Comparative Degree are words used when two nouns are being
compared;
c. Superlative Degree are words used to describe something and/or
someone which is at the upper or lower limit of a quality.

II. Lesson Proper:


a. Positive Degree of Comparison
a term that relates to adjectives and adverbs. An
adjective or adverb that does not make a direct comparison.
It is the normal form of an adjective or an adverb.

Example:
1. Jhasmin is kind.
2. The content of this book is long.
3. Joseph is brave.
4. This lesson is simple.
5. Hannah is always happy.
6. Ivan’s bag is heavy.
7. New York is a big city.
8. Kenneth’s cat is fat.
9. Vygotsky’s piano pieces are difficult to learn.
10. American actors are famous.

The underlined words above are examples of


Positive Adjectives, the words are not used to compare
the noun to anything, rather it was there to just describe
it.
