In line with the mission of the BUTIL Scholarship Program of instilling academic excellence and enriching

holistic growth, USTbongrunong Leadership Camp 2021 aims to equip BUTIL Scholars with leadership
qualities that will enable them to succeed in the workplace, and act for the betterment of the society.
Beyond forming a strong foundation of education, we must also provide learnings that are geared
toward the acquisition and expansion of their individual development needs matched with the demands
of societal transformation. By acknowledging and molding the leadership potential in everyone, we are
empowering the next generation of leaders to generate constructive and long-term impacts on their
communities, and to the global society.

What specific needs in the partner community or institution does your organization wish to address?

Beyond financial assistance and a strong foundation of education, BUTIL Scholars also need to be
equipped with leadership qualities that are relevant to the success in their future workplace, and for the
betterment of the society. Specifically, we want to instill the value of antifragility and courage. The
adverse effects—physically, emotionally, mentally, and financially—of the COVID-19 pandemic have
drained away and made most of us descend further to the world of shadows. Considering this, we aim
to empower and encourage them to rise to any challenges of life, not just for themselves but also for
others. We wish to divert their energy into an antifragile response system that will make them stronger
in a volatile environment and permit the realization and expansion of their potentials. Furthermore, we
intend to encourage BUTIL Scholars to rise for the weak, and those who are least to protect themselves.
This undertaking is anathema to individualistic culture, for it promotes an antifragile society. As the next
generation of leadership in the workplace and our communities, it is intrinsic for BUTIL Scholars to
develop a proper, effective, and courageous post-crisis response that will foster their growth and the
well-being of others in their communities.
