„Don’t walk alone in the

dark street”

Fill in the gaps using either Past Simple or Past Continuous

It was (be) a winter night. Together with my girlfriend we walked (walk) down the market square. We
didn’t seen (not/see) anything. Suddenly, we heard (hear) a horrible noise coming from the corner.
We ran (run) there and we saw (see) three cars which were totally damaged. We didn’t know
(not/know) what to do. Suzie took (take) her phone and called (call) for help. One of the policeman
told (tell) her to call for an ambulance. Then she dialed (dial) the numer. The doctor told (tell) her not
to take the people out of the cars but wait for paramedics. I felt (feel) really tense. I started (start) to
talk to the car drivers and get (get) to know if they are alive. After a few minutes firefighters pulled
(pull) them out of the cars and took care of them. All the roal casualties had (have) their legs broken.
At the end the firefighters told (tell) us not to walk alone in the dark streets.
