Industrial gas compatibility for flexible hoses

PTFE:
• Compatible with medical and industrial O2 applications for high pressures
• Available with heatsinks
• BAM/CTE test Approved
• Compatible with CO2

Industrial Gas Compatibility


• Compatible with all inert gases
• Compatible with NO (Very low level of permeation)
• Not compatible with He and H2 due to permeation

Polyester
olyester elastomer/ Polyamides/ TEFZEL:

• Compatible with He and H2


• Not compatible O2, but all are satisfactory with CO2.
• The superior material for hydrogen is TEFZEL, but it is also the most expensive out of the 3
polymers.

PFA:

• Average level of permeation for He and H2. Acceptable for 100% exposition with He and H2.
• Low level of permeation with NO
• Compatible with medical and industrial O2 applications up to 300 Bar only.
• Compatible with CO2

Stainless-
Stainless-Steel:

• Compatible with medical and industrial O2 applications for high pressures.


• Compatible with all insert gases
• Compatible with He/H2 compatible
• Compatible with NO
• BAM/CTE test Approved

Service Life

• The service life of the hose is based on the analysis that the hoses shall not be subjected to
misuse, damage with clean media passed through the liner.
• AHE holds the rights to asses and recommend the service life of each hose assembly,
application dependent.

Industrial Gas Compatibility


• The following suggests the recommended service life for each product.

PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) & Other Co-


Co-Polymer Hoses

• For PTFE products, AHE currently recommends a maximum service life of 10 years.

Elastomer Hoses

• For Elastomer products, AHE currently recommends a maximum service life of 7 years.

Convoluted – Corrugated Metallic Hoses

• For Metallic products, AHE currently recommends a maximum service life of 3 years.

Warranty

• All flexible hose assemblies come with a 12 month warranty, providing the user
adheres to the maintenance and handling guideless detailed in this document.

Other conditions may apply for specific customers at point of contract.
