WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR NIGERIA ISSUED 31.08.2020 AND

VALID 00:00 01.09.2020 TO 23:59 03.09.2020

FORECAST OUTLOOK:

Day 1 (Tuesday 1st): Cloudy skies are expected over the Northern region with chances of early

morning thunderstorms over parts of Kebbi, Nguru, Potiskum, Bauchi, Gombe and Jalingo state.

Later in the day, there are prospects of cloudy skies with pockets of thunderstorms over Kano,

Katsina, Zaria and Bauchi. The North Central region is expected to be cloudy with chances of

overnight into early morning rains over parts of Abuja, Kwara, Nasarawa and Kogi. Progressing

into the afternoon and evening periods, cloudy skies with thunderstorms are anticipated over the

high grounds especially parts of Plateau. The Southern region of the country are expected to be

cloudy with chances of light intermittent rains over Yenegoa, Calabar and Eket during the morning

hours. In the afternoon and evening period, intermittent rain showers are anticipated over the

region.

Day 2 (Wednesday 2nd): Cloudy skies should prevail over the Northern region with prospects of

isolated thunderstorms especially over Sokoto and Maiduguri in the morning hours. As the day

progresses, cloudy skies are anticipated with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over North-

western region. Cloudy skies are expected over the north central region with prospects of rain

showers over Niger, Makurdi, Nasarawa and Kogi in the morning hours. Thunderstorms are

anticipated over the north central region especially over Jos and Abuja during the afternoon and
evening hours. The inland and coast of the South will be very cloudy in the morning with prospects

of moderate rains over the region during the afternoon and evening hours.

Day 3 (Thursday 3rd): Prospects of thunderstorms are expected to prevail over the north during

the morning hours. Later in the day, cloudy skies are anticipated over the North-western axis with

prospects of thunderstorms over the region during the afternoon and evening hours It is expected

to be cloudy over the north central cities with chances of thunderstorms over the high grounds

areas during the afternoon and evening hours. The Inland and Coastal cities of the Southwest

should experience much cloudiness in the morning hours with chances of moderate rains over

Benin and most palaces over the Southeast coast. Intermittent rains are expected across the

southern region during the afternoon and evening hours.
