The Desert Eagle Publishing Book No.4 ‘Magach 6B Gal’ has some excellent
reference pictures of the tank on operations, including pictures of it working on some combat
bridges. So, an idea began to form in my mind of how I could display a model I had previously built
in an imaginative way. Could I incorporate the kit and a combat bridge into the base? I felt this might

wouldn’t it? Well no, not if I only used part of the bride and just one side of whatever it was crossing.
In fact, it would make quite a dramatic base for the model and also allow me to keep the base to a

wanted to get stuck
into as soon as I got
hold of this superb
Verlinden figure from an online
auction site a couple of years ago.
But until I was at home during the
enforced ‘lockdown’, I still hadn’t
started it, but this was about to
change! The idea was to portray a
small scene which could have been
played out anytime over the last
fifteen years or so, a US Special Forces
operator deployed amongst the rocky
wilds of the Afghan/Pakistan Border
Mountains locating high value enemy
targets and carrying out all important
surveillance.
This Verlinden figure is a great
resin model, very well sculpted and
detailed with nearly fifty parts in
the box, some resin rod and a
length of wire to complete
the package. Unfortunately,
there are no instructions
provided, so I would
be working from the
box image and some
pictures I found
online. The first

With all that out the way the
figure and several sub-assemblies
could be put together and I could

point of this model is the flexibility
you have when using all the parts,
water bottles, grenades, combat
knife, magazine pouches and so on
which can be fitted where you like
