A renowned authority on defamation, entertainment and commercial litigation, Deborah


Drooz (of counsel at Bostwick Law) has successfully argued matters before various trial and
appellate courts, and is responsible for many precedent-setting appellate decisions in libel
cases. She has represented a number of well-known public figures in defamation matters,
including Stevie Wonder Kevin Costner, Martha Stewart, Berry Gordy, Aretha Franklin, the
former president of Brazil Lula da Silva, and Steve Wynn, the founder of Mirage Resorts.

Professor Drooz also represents corporate clients, including Fluor Daniels, Inc. and Mirage
Resorts, Inc. In addition, Deborah advises public figures and corporations on First
Amendment issues. She also counsels clients in intellectual property, appellate and
entertainment transaction matters. Prior to attending law school, she was a journalist for The
Los Angeles Herald Examiner and a contributing editor for Los Angeles Weekly.
