CAMPUS MINISTRY AT PANGASINAN STATE UNIVERSITY (P.S.U.

)
ASINGAN CAMPUS

When I started to work with the brethren in the vineyard of the Lord at Asingan congregation
last July 7, 2013, I saw the need of starting a campus ministry in the town of Asingan, Pangasinan.
I talked with some members of the Asingan church who are studying at this university and
inquire the possibility of a “CAMPUS MINISTRY”. Resounding YES was their reply. I asked them
the name of the school dean or director.
July 17, 2013 when I wrote a letter addressed to the university executive director named
PRISCILLA L. AGSALUD, asking her approval regarding a campus ministry activity. On that same
day, I asked Rizaldy Ferrer, one of the church workers of Asingan and also a student of this university
to accompany me to Mrs. Agsalud’s office. As we get in to her office, we greeted her and she
welcomes us. I handed the letter and she read it right away. I am truly glad when she told me that,
“THIS IS WHAT I WANT IN THIS SCHOOL.” The allotted time she gave us is during lunch period
since all students have one hour break. She told us that the school activity center is always ready as
venue of our campus ministry.
One of her faculty members named VERONICA BUCCAT, who happened to be the owner of
the house we are renting as church meeting place, upon knowing that a campus ministry will begin, she
immediately called Rizaldy offering her classroom as a venue for us to conduct the Bible study,
because she want to listen and her students are the immediate beneficiaries. God answers all our
prayers and so we acted in accordance with her offer.
Since July month is the school examination period, bro. Jake and I decided to start the campus
ministry on the first week of August. We coordinated it to Mrs. Veronica Buccat that August 7th is the
beginning of our Bible study and she was very happy and excited.
Our first attendance was 22 and on the following day it was 26, it continues to increase within
the week. I prepared a seven (7) series of lessons for this ministry that will last until the closing of the
school first semester. Bro. Jake was responsible in getting the record of attending students, for we
already planned to have a thanksgiving fellowship at the close of the school first semester.
I encourage church members to invite their family members, relatives, friends and neighbors
who are studying in this university to attend our campus ministry. Our attendance increased up to 33
and the highest was 42. Attendance’s average was 27. During examination period, our attendance
decreases to 20.
After three months of campus ministry, comes the end of the first semester, so we invited the
school executive director and her assistant to attend our thanksgiving fellowship. It happened last
October 9th. It was well attended and bro. Arnold was present with sis. Vicky Lee. The school executive
director Mrs. Agsalud expresses her heartfelt gratitude and appreciation of what we have done and she
even encouraged us to continue the ministry up to the next semester. We distributed New Testament
Bible to all students that completed the 7 series lessons and a certificate of attendance (see pictures
below):
The school second semester period started last November 11th and campus ministry resumed
and it will end on March 2014. There are now several students who desire to obey the Lord, after I
thorough explaned about the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, his offer of salvation and the blessings of
being member in the family of God.

This campus ministry is one of the ministries of the Asingan church and we humbly ask your
continuous prayers for all the ministries we are involved with. Thank you very much for the partnership
we have in the vineyard of the Lord. Thank you so much for your continued support.
