COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSING

LEARNING FEEDBACK DIARY(LFD #3)

Since Ms. Kissy was done orienting us with the topics about Community Health Nursing and
giving us our assignments, today I was continuing the tasks that were given to us individually and I
learned about about the Health Care Delivery System in the Philippines whereas I learned about
WHO or the World Health Organization that was built on April 7, 1948 by the diplomats
discussions about world health problems, the function is to provide support and training to its
member countries, also monitoring health situation and assessing health trends from countries to
countries all over the world. It has five main goals; Capacity that strengthens research systems,
priorities, standards promoting good research, organization, and translation. I also did a research
again about the MDGs and SDGs one of the goals of WHO to achieve sustainable development of
each country around the world and to better health care systems. Aside from that I also searched a
copy of the Philippine Agenda where I learned that our country aims to target SDGs such as
financial risk protection, better health outcomes, and responsiveness. In order to reach these goals
values should be develop such us equity, efficiency, quality, and transparency. I also researched
about the undertakings of WHO that impacts health situation in the Philippines and one of it was
The Department of Health (DOH), with support from the World Health Organization (WHO) and
United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), is resuming its Sabayang Patak Kontra Polio campaign
to combat the poliovirus outbreak in the Philippines. The polio immunization campaign was shortly
put on hold because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Polio is a life life-threatening disease that caused
by poliovirus, it can damage the nerves and infect spinal cord thus resulting to paralysis or even
death especially to young children, it can be spread through person-to-person that lives in person’s
throat or intestines. We should not imprioritize polio even today as we can’t afford a new outbreak
of virus again. WHO, DOH, and UNICEF resume polio campaign to ensure enough immunity in the
community to stop the spread of polio in the Philippines. WHO, on the other hand, continues to
provide technical advice in intensifying polio surveillance, planning for and monitoring of
immunization campaigns, infection prevention and control measures, and risk communication.
WHO has also deployed international and national polio experts who provide on-the-ground
technical support to the regions and local implementers. The potential effects of these undertakings
on the local health situation is that it helps community to preserve and promote sustainable health
and prevents the virus from penetrating. The children will get vaccinated and be safe from the polio
outbreak. I learned about the DOH which is the leader agency of health to its health care facilities
in the community which are the primary care facility like birthing facilities , health centers. And last
was I exercised and get enough sleep to refresh my mind and to study again and I also ate snacks for
energy.
