COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSING

LEARNING FEEDBACK DIARY(LFD #4)

What I did for today was scanning again with the health care delivery system in
our country where I gained new knowledge again, I learned that a health system has
six building blocks or components and these are health workforce, service delivery,
medical products, information, vaccines and technologies, financing, leadership and
governance. A nurse must understood these components in order to know Health care
referral systems in the Philippines as to refer patients to the appropriate facility or
health personnel. I learned that aside from DOH being a leader of the community it
also provides support to LGUs the private sector in implementing health programs,
giving training and education to other health care providers at all levels of the health
care and and serving the lead agency in health research and development. The health
care delivery system in the Philippines is dominated by the public sector like regional,
provincial, municipal, and barangay level while being supported by private health
care service providers. The implementation of UHC or the Universal Health Care to
bring about health sector reforms that brings equity in health service delivery. In the
Philippines healthcare setting health care facilities are level as level 1, 2, and 3. Level
1(Primary Health Care facilities) are the rural health units, health centers and other
control units operated by the DOH. The level 2(Secondary Level of Health Care
Facilities) is the smaller non-departmentalized hospitals including emergency and
regional hospitals while the level 3(Tertiary Level) are highly technological and
sophisticated services offered by medical centers and large hospitals.Health care
workers are also classified we have the grassroots health workers and the first line
hospital personnel. Grassroots workers like the barangay health workers etc and the
frist line personnel were the doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and others in the frontlines.
Patients satisfaction is the number one priority care of the delivery system in the
Philippines, collaboration of nurses, doctors and others in the medical teams increases
team members, awareness of each other type of knowledge and skills, leading to
continued giving of holistic and appropriate care to patients with a peaceful health
care delivery system in the community. Since we had no class and I’m done with the
activities, I went for church visit and had a dinner with my family.
